I always thought strength meant pushing through, keeping busy, handling stress on my own and never letting anything crack the surface. But over time, the pressure built up. I numbed out, avoided and kept telling myself I had it under control. I didn't. And when life forced me to stop and look at where I was, I knew something had to change
I always thought strength meant pushing through, keeping busy, handling stress on my own and never letting anything crack the surface. But over time, the pressure built up. I numbed out, avoided and kept telling myself I had it under control. I didn't. And when life forced me to stop and look at where I was, I knew something had to change. In order for me to show up as the man, the husband and father I wanted to be, I had to face it all, own it all and start to work through my shit.
That’s when I found breathwork and men’s circles—spaces where I could finally slow down, be real, and do the work. My first Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) session cracked me open in a way nothing else had. It was the breakthrough I didn’t even know I needed. Breathwork became my foundation, helping me navigate challenges, process emotions, and show up fully in my life.
Through this journey, I met Brett and Josh, two brothers who had also walked their own paths of healing and growth. We connected over a shared vision—to create a space where men could break free from stress, self-doubt, and emotional weight. That vision became Rise Up Movement—a place for men to reconnect with themselves, find real support, and rise into their full strength.
This isn’t about fixing yourself—you’re not broken. It’s about remembering who you are, stepping into your power, and knowing you don’t have to do it alone.

I’m Brett, one of the co-founders of RISE UP. I started this with Dave and Josh because I’ve been where so many men find themselves—stuck, lost, in a lot of pain, and not knowing how to deal with what was going on inside me. I’ll be honest, things got real dark for me, and for a long time, it felt never-ending. Through my own journey, education, and training, I’ve come to understand the impact of unresolved trauma, how the nervous system works, and the role it all plays in our well-being. So much of the dysfunction in my life stemmed from unresolved trauma—things I hadn’t faced, emotions I had buried, and pain I didn’t know how to process.
For a long time, like a lot of men, I coped by shutting down, burying it, resorting to distractions and coping mechanisms, pushing through, and trying to handle everything on my own. But that only made things worse. I realised those outdated notions of masculinity weren’t just unhelpful—they were unhealthy. It wasn’t until I got sick and tired of the way I was living, I got honest with myself and was truly ready for change that things started to shift. I began doing the real inner work; learning how to process emotions, connect with myself, and get comfortable with being uncomfortable— and that’s when things truly changed. This ultimately led me to finding forgiveness for myself and rediscovering the self love and worth I had lost.
That’s why I do this. RISE UP isn’t just a workshop; It’s the kind of support I wish I had earlier, and now I’m here with Dave & Josh to help other men find their own way forward.
There’s a reason I stand side by side with Dave and Josh. We share the same values, mindset, and passion for supporting men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. Each of us brings something unique, but we’re united by a mission to create a space where men can heal, grow, and thrive.

I know what it’s like to feel stuck. To carry weight that no one else can see. To fight battles in silence because that’s what we were taught.... to tough it out, to keep pushing forward, and to never let anyone see the cracks.
For years I lived that way. I’ve been through the heartache, the setbacks and the moments where I questioned everything... who I was, where I was headed and whether I’d ever break free from the shit that held me back.
Many years ago, I hit a point where I thought I couldn’t keep going. I tried to take my own life but nothing really changed after that, I kept doing things I wasn’t proud of, repeating the same cycles, stuck in the same patterns. Until one day I looked at myself in the mirror and asked: Who do I want to be? How do I want to show up? How do I want to be remembered?
That was the shift. It had to be me and it had to be now. I stepped up and started doing the inner work, challenging my thoughts, facing my demons and pushing through the hard shit. Now as tough as that journey was, it shaped me into the man I am today but one thing I learned...... It’s a hell of a lot easier when you’re not doing it alone.
That’s why Dave, Brett, and I started Rise Up Movement.....a space where men can step out from the shadows, drop the weight of expectation and finally breathe. This isn’t just about talking, it’s about doing the work. It’s about real conversations, real brotherhood and real change. It’s about breaking the cycles that have held us down and stepping into the men we were meant to be.
Together we bring everything we’ve learned through our own struggles, through years of experience in different industries, through breathwork, mindset coaching and pushing past the limits we once thought defined us. We’re here to help men RISE UP, not just for themselves but for their mates, their families and the next generation.
Because we don’t have to do it alone and we sure as hell don’t have to stay where we are.
